ELFA expands the Sanyo range

We have begun to co-operate more closely with Martinsson

Elektronik that which makes it possible for us to satisfy your

needs regarding smaller quantities for development and test

series, in combination with our reliable and fast deliveries. The

co-operation means that we have extended our range of Sanyo

capacitors with approximately 250 new types from their most

popular series. Sanyo is in the front regarding development of

capacitors and they were the first to introduce a dry semicon-

ductor electrolyte, OS-CON and with a polymer tantalum

electrolyte, POSCAP.

OS-CON

This is a dry aluminium electrolyte capacitor. It is made up of an

organic semiconductor electrolyte which provides high perfor-

mance with low ESR, high current, frequency and temperature

durability and low impedance even at low temperatures. The

life is also extremely long. Calculated life at 65 °C is approxi-

mately 22 years!

CV-EX

This series is the first of its kind using a hybrid electrolyte, that

is a wet electrolyte with a polymer electrolyte added. It is

surface mounted with a voltage durability up to 16V and an ESR

down to 23 mohm and ripple durability of about 2A.

POSCAP

Sanyo was first with the manufacture of a polymer tantalum

electrolyte where the manganese dioxide has been replaced by a

high-conductive polymer which provides higher capacitance

than an ordinary tantalum capacitor. A polymer electrolyte

contains no oxygen and does not therefore fuel a fire if there is a

short circuit.

Sanyo is still the leading manufacturer with among others the

lowest ESR on the market and a capability to withstand current

surges of up to 20 A and a ripple durability of 4 A.

Long life, excellent HF properties and stable temperature

characteristics are some things that typifies POSCAP. The low

ESR of POSCAP means a low temperature development at high

frequencies. This makes it possible to maintain marked voltage

and de-rating is not necessary with POSCAP.
